PHASE 1 TEACHING PRACTICE REFLECTION : WEEK 1 (25/9/24- 27/9/24)
On 25 th September 2024, Wednesday I joined SVMMHSS, Vendar for my B Ed first phase teaching practice.
As I reflect on my first week of teaching practice at SVMMHSS Vendar, I must admit that it was a rollercoaster of emotions. Initially, I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness, but as the days went by, I realized that I was more tense than I had anticipated. The transition from a student to a teacher-trainee was daunting, and I struggled to cope with the school's time management.
However, as the week progressed, I began to find my footing. One of the most memorable experiences was participating in the Mid-Day Meal Scheme. Serving food to the students alongside other teacher-trainees was a humbling experience. It not only helped me bond with my peers but also gave me a glimpse into the lives of the students and the importance of this scheme in their daily lives.
Through this experience, I learned the value of adaptability, teamwork, and empathy. I realized that teaching is not just about imparting knowledge, but also about building relationships and creating a supportive environment.
As I move forward into the next phase of my teaching practice, I am more aware of my strengths and weaknesses. I am committed to working on my time management skills, being more confident in the classroom, and continuing to build positive relationships with my students and colleagues.
